It’s Not Over Yet?

Boy, oh, boy! The world of 2020 doesn’t look like we thought it would, does it?

2020

Rather than this being another one of those random blog posts bemoaning all of the bad we’ve faced…

Let me ask you a question (or 3): What are you learning? What are you doing? How are you growing?

You do realize that history is being written – right now – don’t you? In a few years there will be people learning about how the world faced the 2020 pandemic, and they might ask you what you remember about it. What will you tell them?

I was overcome with fear. I gained a lot of “quarantine” weight. I wasted a lot of time binge-watching meaningless shows. I got into some heated keyboard battles.

Or – I learned new skills. I started making some changes in my world. I deepened my faith. I grew.

What will you be able to say?

Remember, the year isn’t over (yet), and the pandemic definitely isn’t over (yet) – so you’ve still got time to refocus and change things. And that’s what I encourage you to do.

As Christians, we know what God would have us do. But knowing what we should do – and doing those things – are entirely different things. So, consider a couple of verses that might jump-start your productivity…
“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9 – CSB)
“But as for you, brothers and sisters, do not row weary in doing good.” (2 Thessalonians 3:13 – CSB)

And as we move into the season when we are supposed to be giving thanks, I can assure you that a refocus will give you something for which you can REALLY thank God. Happy Thanksgiving!
