Have you ever asked someone about another person with a question like, “What is he/she really like?”
The idea behind that question is that we want to know about someone at a deeper level. We know what the person seems to be like or what their public perception is, but we want to know more about them. It is a natural question to have.
One of the wonderful things about God is that He wants us to know Him – not just know about Him. That is an incredible realization to have. You can know God and what He is like.
Jesus once talked about the way we often fret and worry about the little things of life even though God has proven that He takes care of the simplest of creatures; therefore, we can trust Him. He then told us what we need to focus on in Luke 12:41: “But seek [God’s] kingdom, and these things will be provided for you.”
Knowing that we tend to worry even when we do not have to worry, Jesus explained it further. He said in the next verse, “Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.”
Think about that.
God wants us to put Him first. God wants us to focus our lives on what He desires. God wants us to seek Him above all else. AND God will make it work out because He wants the best for you. He will give you the kingdom.
If we seek God and His kingdom, He will give us the desire and the ability to seek. When we do seek Him and His kingdom, He then gives it. He will give us the desire and the blessing. Wow!
God does not want to make your life boring. God wants you to experience what real (abundant) life really is, and He will give you the desire for it if you ask. AND He will grant it if you seek it.
I do not know of any person alive (or dead) who has that ability or that generosity. God not only wants us to know Him, but He wants to help you know Him. That is true for every one of us.
